What we completed this week was the first step in the second half of our trailer. First off we started by welding the bed frame that we cut and clamped into place all together. Also we started the cross bracing on the trailer by making custom cuts on the metal so set the pieces in place. We finished these pieces by welding them to the trailer and giving the bed frame much needed support. So this week we completed most of the frame of the bed and were able to finish almost all of the cross bracing.
In the following weeks we still have a lot to get done. We need to finish the cross bracing on the trailer, finishing the side panels and bed panel on the trailer, putting the hydraulic components into place, and installing the electrical components. We still have a long way to go, but this week we finished a lot of steps that take a very long time to complete.
What we did well this week was working efficiently. We had to make custom cuts on certain pieces to make them fit into place. This takes a very long time to get right but we kept working proficiently and were able to get all of the pieces completed. Also we made sure our bed frame is aligned perfectly so that it works the correct way. If the frame is off by just an inch the bed frame will not be able to be lifted by the hydraulic cylinder the right way.
What we need to work on in the future is finding more time to work on the trailer and work more efficiently. The deadline for our project is quickly approaching and we need to get a lot done in a short amount of time. Also we need to work on fundraising to pay back the expenses we have taken on throughout the entirety of this project. We have a lot to do and have a lot to work on, but if we stay on schedule we will be able to get the project done on time.
