Hydraulics and Gate

What we did this week was installing the hydraulic cylinder, installing the trailer door, and preparing to install the flooring. First we used a plasma cutter and drill to cut holes for the hydraulic piston pins to go into. After that we installed the cylinder and aligned it with the bracing. Next we cut hinges for the trailer door, created the trailer door, and welded it all together.

Next week we are planning to put in the flooring of the dump bed, install the safety bars, and install the hydraulic pump. For this next week we need to work fast and make the best time during our spring break. After we finish these steps we need to install lights and the battery which won’t take long, but we still need to accomplish. After that we will just have to paint and make some touch ups on the trailer.

What we need to work on is finding more time to work. We are getting dangerously close to the end date on this project. If we do not hurry up with completing the project we will struggle to even come close. We have a lot to do, but if we can just find time to work more we can make this work.

What we did well this week was working through problems that we ran into. It was a major problem to drill the holes for the hydraulics and it made it very difficult for us to complete. Also we ran into problems with the trailer door, but we made adjustments and figured it out together as a team.
