Side Walls and Paneling

What we were able to accomplish this week was completing the side supports on the dump bed frame. We cut the vertical pieces, placed them in the correct places, and welded them into place. Then we cut and set in the horizontal supports on the top of the vertical pieces. After welding them into place we welding all the parts attached to the vertical walls and made sure it was one solid piece that could stand on its own. When we were done with the that we drilled the holes for latches that will open and close the door of the dump bed. We also cut the latches out of plate so that it will lock the gate closed in place. In addition we cut out the side paneling for the vertical walls that will be welded into place. Also this week we ordered a hydraulic piston and it was delivered this week which will allow us to install it in the future.

Coming up we are planning to cut and install the side paneling and floor for the dump bed that will give it a fully functioning bed. We also need to install the fenders as well as the hydraulics on the trailer. Once we do this the trailer is ready for lights and paint and in the next weeks we should be able to accomplish all of this.

One thing we did well this week was getting a lot done with the time we had as well as ordering parts we need in the future that will make us work faster. We stayed on task this week and prepared for the future in the same week so we have to best chance of finishing this project.

What we need to work on in the final weeks is trying to cram in everything so we finish on time. Also we just need to work faster or we will not finish. We need to plan better and get everything done that we say we are going to. But in the next couple of weeks if we stay on task and get everything done we will accomplish our goal of finishing this project on time. We just need to keep working together and staying focused.
