Trying to Catch Up

This week we took a step back in our goal. Unfortunately our mentor’s shop was unavailable to us so we were not able to work on the trailer. But instead of sitting around doing nothing we went out and bought all the parts we will need for the trailer. This includes pins for the hydraulic cylinder, tool box hinges, bolts for the trailer gate, hydraulic fluid, a lock for the tool box, and chains for the trailer gate. Even though we were unable to work on the project we were still able to get something done in the process.

Next week we are planning to put in the flooring of the dump bed, install the safety bars, install the hydraulics, and make and weld in the tailgate of the dump bed. We need to only cut a few things and drill more holes for the hydraulics, but the main purpose for the coming week is just to install more parts and finish the trailer. After that weekend we will just have to paint and install electrical components.

What we did well this week was improvising when there was nothing we could do. Instead of doing nothing we decided to get ahead and be prepared to finish the trailer as fast as possible. We again are preparing for the future and making the most of the time we have to work on the trailer. We fought through the adversity of not being able to work on the trailer and still were able to accomplish an aspect to completing our goal.

What we need to work on is finding more time to work. We are getting dangerously close to the end date on this project. If we do not hurry up with completing the project we will struggle to even come close. We have a lot to do, but if we can just find time to work more we can make this work.
